Tonight at 7:45 to 8:30 pm at the Improv Workshop – learn to adlib with me. Take a solo in the privacy of your room. Vocalists and any instrument, come on down! These workshops are focused on beginners and intermediates, and no one can hear you.
Tonight we’re playing “In Ancient Greece”, a Progressive Rock tune in e Phrygian minor (I’ll explain how). Then “Funky No More”, which actually is funky, in g minor. This link:

gets you to all the scales, patterns, and charts used tonight. If you can, it’s usually easiest to use if you print them out.
I’m adlibbing on the ukulele and tenor sax tonight.
Then around 8:40 pm, it’s time for “To Play and Sing” time, musical Q&A – questions about anything musical, about groups, soloing, practicing, specific instruments or the voice, performing, etc. Last week we talked about how to figure out the rhythm/strum/accompaniment pattern in a song on the guitar. We also discussed how to fix a broken tuba. We won’t know the questions for tonight until we hear yours.
Please come and send this everyone in your contact list.
